MAR Tri Black Sealer TC-08B
The MAR Tri Black Sealer TC-08B is a black topcoat for trivalent black passivates to increase the corrosion protection. It can be applied to part plated from both barrel and rack systems.

Replenish with new full strength MAR Tri Black Sealer TC-08B based on analysis.
HELPFUL HINTS
Drag in of water from wet parts will result in thinner coatings. If coatings become too thin, a second coat can be applied after the first coating is dried.
Drag in of acid should be avoided.
pH should be kept above 8 and below 10 and can be adjusted using diluted ammonium hydroxide solution.
Drying of MAR ZINC PRO OS SEALER can be achieved by air, oven, infra-red lamps, or heated spinning techniques.
ANALYTICAL CONTROL
The concentration can be analyzed gravimetrically by drying a sample to constant weight at 105oC after setup of the system from the start.

SOLUTION MAKE UP
- Be sure the tank being used is leached of all hexavalent chromium products before charging.
- Fill tank to approximately 60% of final volume preferably with deionized water.
- Add the required amount of Sodium Nitrate
- Add the required amount of MAR BLUE 1.
- Add the required amount of MAR BLACK 1 PART 2.
- Bring tank to final working volume and check pH of the solution.
- To raise the pH, use dilute Sodium Hydroxide, and to lower the pH use Sulphuric Acid.
SOLUTION MAINTENACE
Routine additions via metering pump or regular "over the side" tank additions should be incorporated into the operating procedures. It is not wise to allow the solution to become almost depleted and "recharged" with large amounts of chemistry. Addition rate should be determined empirically through analysis of the passivation bath with a correlation of the amount of work going through the line. Typical replenishment rate of 1 litre MAR BLACK 1 PART 2 for every 100 – 150 square feet of work being processed should be used as a guide. Replenishment o of MAR BLUE 1 should be done by analysis. Part configuration and drag out should be taken into consideration when determining the exact add back rate.
