MAR ZINCATE PRO 127

MAR ZINCATE PRO 127 is a stable zincate process which is applicable in rack installations. It produces a thin grey zinc deposit on aluminum and also on a number of aluminum alloys by immersion.

The MAR ZINCATE PRO 127 produces a very dense zinc alloy film that can be processed further by the deposition of copper, nickel, tin and electroless nickel.

Zincates are used extensively in the aerospace, appliance, automotive, electrical, and electronic indus¬tries because of its improved adhesion of subsequent deposited metals.

Operating Conditions

EQUIPMENT

Tank:

Steel, or steel lined with PVC or rubber-lined tanks are satisfactory. Either new or used tanks must be thoroughly cleaned and leached.

Heating:

Heating is not generally required; however, in very cold weather, if the temperature falls below 13°C (55°F), it would be advisable to raise the temperature to minimum of 16°C (60°F). The use of steel immersion heater is satisfactory. If an immersion heater is used, be sure to use continuous solution agitation while heating to avoid local overheating of the solution.

Ventilation:

Because the MAR ZINCATE PRO 127 solution is operated at ambient, it may be operated without an exhaust. However, since the solution contains cyanide, we recommend that an exhaust be used to avoid the possible inhalation of mist that may be caused by excessively strong agitation.

Filtration:

Filtration is recommended with 5 micron PVC cartridges at a solution turn over of 1 to 2 tank volumes per hour.

MAR ZINCATE PRO 127-MU

The MAR ZINCATE PRO 127-MU is a pre-mixed greenish solution ready to use when add to 40% BV of water. It contains all of the components to effectively process aluminum and its varied alloys. It can be used to exhaustion. Extreme caution must be used since this additive contains cyanide.

MAR ZINCATE PRO 127-MR

The MAR ZINCATE PRO 127-MS is a liquid replenishment component, mainly to replace the metal portion of the system in high volume application.

The MAR ZINCATE PRO 127-MS is a solid component to replenish and maintain the caustic and cyanide at their correct levels. Extreme caution must be used since this additive contains cyanide.
